Electra: the sister of struggle, the sister of the sun
The Sister of the Sun is undoubtedly the book in Lucinda Riley's Seven Sisters series with the most intensity and depth so far.
On the outside, Electra seems to have it all. One of the most famous models in the world, with a perfect body. She's beautiful. She has so much money that she no longer has to worry about the future. The spotlight is all on her life. She lives glamorously and relates to people in this environment in the most diverse ways. Inside, however, is the saddest contradiction. A devastated woman who lives in pieces, but who still can't see clearly the source of her pain. She always suffers from toxic relationships and ends up turning to drink as a great escape valve from her problems. This is Electra, nice to meet you!
Creating this character as a famous New York model was a great idea on Lucinda's part, as it shows all the contradictions that exist in this fashion world. She's perfect, full of glamor. But it's a shell that hides her essence. All this perfection of outer beauty hides a state of inner devastation that is close to leading her to serious consequences, which also hides some facts about her ancestors, without her knowing it.
The young model is the younger sister of the adopted daughters of PaSalt - a very mysterious businessman who dies in the very first pages of the first book in this series. The Sister of the Sun is the sixth book in this series and contains a story that really moved me. It deals with important themes such as racism, the fight against drugs and love, shown in the most diverse ways and, for me, in the most genuine way.
A he story of Electra's ancestors begins in the United States, with the character Cecilia, who has two major love disappointments that change the course of her life. the course of her life. And so it happens. She travels to Kenya, in Africa, with her godmother, to relax and get to know the air.
E here the story takes on wonderful contours, with a unique setting, but, with difficult and surprising days.
It's very much worth reading, but I recommend reading the series in chronological order.
